Fireplace Design

The Fireplace is a focal point for the room.  Beaux-Artes can redesign an existing fireplace or work with you
and your architect/builder/designer to create a custom design. Utilizing ornamentation, beautiful finishes 
and most important a vision, we create a one-of-a-kind fireplace.

Before
This beautiful home had five fireplaces all
exactly the same.  We selected designs
to compliment their furnishings as well as
the home since our work will remain long
after the homeowners have changed.

After
The swag design appears in the candlelabras
and antique pedestals.  We also selected
a medallion for their chandelier that repeats
the bell and swag motif.  The built-ins were
embellished with plaster and composition
ornament.

Before

Design challenge was to work 
with the existing
stone mantel.

After
The stone mantle was incorporated into a much more balanced design
supported by two tuscan columns.  A stone texture and finish 
compliments the natural stone.  Custom cabinets with fluted trim were
built in.

The design for this fireplace came from the 
contemporary furnishings which had black marble 
with platinum and gold metallic accents. With all
 the trim the ornament wasonly added to the
column frieze.

A standard fireplace in new 
construction.

After
The design was established by the over
mantle mirror.  The ornament applied to the
frieze and sides is the same as the ornament
on the mirror.  The antique gold finish on
  the ornament and the distressed black 
on the fireplace matches the mirror. The
 mantel is faux black marble to match the
surround.  A unique addition is a quartz
gemstone mounted in the central feature.
